These notes are brilliant, engaging and clarifying insights into texts which are so frequently mystified, and difficult for a student of literature to approach confidently. They offer a way into studying popular University English literature texts in the quality needed for degree level and therefore can provide the basis for a more adept engagement with many other texts which may be covered on the syllabus. Covering a broad range of styles, genres and periods (and with the promise of more to come!), these notes offer me as a 1st year English Literature student a leg up to engaging with the literature on a deeper level.
